Alwyn Park Breeds Perth Cup Winner – Buster Bash

Alwyn Park has had plenty to celebrate recently. Not only is their resident stallion, Maschino, producing multiple winners on the track, they were also the breeder of classy gelding, Buster Bash, who won the G2 Perth Cup in January.
Buster Bash is by Trade Fair, who stood at Alwyn Park before passing away a few years ago, and out of the mare Disco Miss, who has proved herself to be a wonderful mare for the stud. Alwyn Park owner, John Andrew, was particularly pleased with Buster Bash’s emphatic summer carnival form, as he will offer half-sister to the Perth Cup winner for sale on Day 1 of the Perth Magic Millions sale in February. Catalogued as Lot 80, the filly is by Gingerbread Man (out of Disco Miss) and she will undoubtedly attract plenty of attention from potential buyers.
John bought the dam, Disco Miss (Zeditave), in 2014 for the bargain price of $4,500. She has been a wonderful broodmare for the farm, producing 8 foals in 9 seasons. She currently has a colt by Jimmy Choux at foot, and is back in foal to Awesome Rock.
Buster Bash has enjoyed a great run of success this summer, taking out wins in the LR Luckygray Stakes (1800m) and LR Towton Cup (2200m) leading up to the G2 Perth Cup (2400m). His win in the Perth Cup was certainly convincing. After sitting comfortably behind the leaders, he quickly dashed to the front nearing the home turn and stormed home to win by more than 4 lengths.
Buster Bash was a graduate of the 2019 Magic Millions sale. He was purchased for only $10,000 and has now won over $720,000 in prize money. The future certainly looks bright for him, and we wish the connections all the best for his next campaign.
